Why is WebM slower to convert? ▼

WebM re-encodes the video with VP9, which is more computationally heavy than H.264. Because everything runs on your own device, a WebM conversion can take noticeably longer — especially for longer clips. You can cancel at any time.

Will converting reduce the quality? ▼

Converting re-encodes the video, which always involves some compression. The defaults are tuned to keep quality high at a reasonable file size, but re-encoding can't add back detail the original had already lost.

Is there a limit on file size or length? ▼

It handles typical clips comfortably. Very large or very long videos take more time and memory because everything runs in your browser, so there's a size and length cap — and you can cancel any time.
